Prof. Herbert Cubasch is a highly regarded surgeon who specializes in treating breast diseases. He founded the Batho Pele Breast Unit, which provides training to nurses, medical students, and doctors in oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer. Prof. Cubasch is an associate professor at Wits University and has made significant contributions to the Soweto Comprehensive Center at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and  involved in many international breast research projects
